The San Ramon Valley community is gearing up to honor outstanding athletes, coaches, and teams with the 2025 Athletic Boosters Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The celebration is set for Thursday at Round Hill Country Club, where four individuals and one championship team will be enshrined for their lasting impact on local sports.
The 2025 Inductees
This year’s class blends coaching excellence, elite athletic careers, and a championship legacy:

Fred Houston — As the head football coach from 1960 to 1975, Houston revived a struggling program and led the Wolves to sustained success. His 91–51–2 record included multiple league titles, and he is also credited with innovations like early adoption of strength training, all while coaching gymnastics and golf.

Omar Samhan (Class of 2003, Basketball) — Standing 6’11”, Samhan starred locally before moving on to a standout college career at St. Mary’s College, earning honors and playing professionally overseas for a decade.

Sam Keller (Class of 2005, Football) — A prolific high school quarterback, Keller threw over 7,000 yards and 80 touchdowns in his prep career. He played at Arizona State and Nebraska, and his high performance and leadership are still remembered by longtime fans.

2014-15 Boys’ Basketball Team — This storied squad captured the CIF State Championship in dramatic fashion, avenging a loss in the North Coast Section semis and clinching the title in a double-overtime battle. Their underdog run remains a cherished moment in school history.
